Gothenburg English Studio Theatre presents
Ghost Stories
by Jeremy Dyson and Andy Nyman
What are you afraid of...?
During his many years of paranormal investigations Dr. Philip Goodman, Professor of Parapsychology, has met just three witnesses whose haunting stories still play on his mind. In this twisted journey through the supernatural, the Dr invites us to re-live these three, chilling tales of ghostly encounters.
Will the Dr be able to find a rational explanation for these phenomena? Or, in his search for the truth, is he about to unearth things better left buried…? Join us for this rollercoaster ride of scares – if you dare!

"Gary Whitaker, who is directing, knows to take his time. The story is allowed to unravel slowly... the atmosphere... builds. The light is used beautifully.
Most frightening are moments when the room goes completely dark, whilst we know that something terrifying is happening on stage. There’s wisdom in not to showing too much, but there are also some spectacular effects here, that make the youngest audience members scream out loud."

"The mood of creeping discomfort is initiated even before we crowd into the padded rows of seats... Together with the skilled director, the sound and lighting designers have had an incredible impact, effectively contributing to us being mercilessly drawn into events beyond our control.
Ghost Stories culminates in breathtaking special effects. With… fantastic technical solutions, magic emerges. The acting is first class throughout! …you should definitely see this creepy, incredibly well-made production."

In conjunction with our production of Ghost Stories, GEST is hosting an exhibition of new work by photographer Lina Ikse, titled The Ghosts of Us. We'll be opening the theatre early so that our audiences can enjoy the exhibition before watching the play, and on the last day of the exhibition, December 3rd, there will be a "finissage" from 16:00 - 17:00. The finissage is open for anyone to attend, but if you would like to stay and see the performance of Ghost Stories that evening, book tickets in advance to avoid disappointment!

PLEASE NOTE that due to the nature of this play, we are unable to admit any latecomers. Please double-check the start time for the performance you are attending and be ready to take your seats at that time. Thank you.

GEST looks forward to welcoming you to our theatre.
